First Aid for Parents

It is a 3-hour class suitable for parents, expectant parents and carers of babies and young children. It covers first aid techniques for babies (0-1 years) and children (1-12 years), such as for choking, basic life support and common first aid scenarios. These classes provide plenty of opportunity to practise new skills while promoting the confidence to use them should the need ever arise.

The BCT First Aid classes are open to BCT members and non-members alike and are led by the BCT’s first-aid qualified prenatal teacher Kate Ellwood.

The session covers topics such as:

How to manage a child who is unconscious and not responding to you

How to perform CPR on a child (and adult) that has stopped breathing

What to do if they start choking

Booking in advance is essential.

Safety for yourself, the casualty and others before you leap in to help.

The First Aid for Parents classes take place at Imagine in Wezembeek-Oppem.
